I don’t mind admitting if I haven’t made something to the what I would say is a good standard but it does push me to keep trying, this week I made 2 cakes, one for a friend whose grandson is moving to high school this week and another as a thank you to the People who made the summer scheme a success, but I’m not going to write about them this week. This week is my attempt at the GBBO master-class that was shown on Tuesday evening.
Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood set the task of making Treacle Tart with a woven lattice top, So I thought I would try but sadly I’m no Mary Berry, in fact Pasty is my nemesis, its one thing I have tried many times and never got right, this was a little better but would never have passed the ‘Hollywood’ test and a little bit rubber as the man himself would say.
The Images show how It didn’t quite work but it tastes lovely.

They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and that shot made me want to lick the laptop

Don’t be afraid of making pastry. The secret is keeping every thing nice and cool and a light touch when rubbing in.
