Flap Berries (one ingredient challenge)

Yes that’s a real word according to my son ‘We made Flap Berries didn’t we?’

This Months one ingredient Challenge set by Laura (Laura is hosting this months) and Nazima is Figs, fresh or dried, I choose Fresh.

We used a Basic Flapjack recipe

175g/6oz butter
175g/6oz golden syrup
175g/6oz muscovado sugar
350g/12oz porridge oats
½ lemon, finely grated zest
pinch ground ginger

Added Ingredeients were

3 Fresh Figs, Chopped finely (makes a little mess)
Hand-picked Blackberries
Dried Cranberries
amounts are personal preference

It was very yummy and rather sticky, I will be making this again even I enjoyed it x

  1. What a clever idea your Flap Berries are. I do love a play on words and a play on recipes too. That is the best thing about cooking, how everyone changes and adapts recipes to personalise them. I have been grabbing all the blackberries I can from the allotment and only wish I could find a few figs down there too.
